Billing
In order to bid in the Transforming Reads auction, you will need to register to take part.
By placing a bid on the website you are entering into a legal contract. If you are lucky enough to become the winning bidder you will be legally obliged to buy the item and considered as the item buyer.
Each item page provides bidding information, including the current bid status. In the field “Your Maximum Bid” place the amount (in GBP £) you are willing to pay for the item and click “bid now”. A confirmation box will appear confirming your bid. If you are happy with the amount click “bid now”. (If you are not logged in you will be re-directed to a login page.)
Minimum bid and bid increment requirements have been set. Unless bids follow the bid increments noted for each prize, the bid will be discarded.
You will receive a bid confirmation email for reference. You are free to bid as many times as you like to ensure your prize. Bids are not retractable.
You will only be able to make an online bid until 14.00 on Friday 24 June 2011. You will be informed on Friday 24 June 2011 if you are successful.
All bids are binding and must be paid for on receiving payment details.
Payment
All payments will be made in GBP (£). You will be contacted once the auction has closed to arrange payment.
You will be able to pay by debit/credit card or by cheque.
The donor of the prize will only send the item when the auction hosts have received the funds and if paying by cheque, when the cheque has cleared.
Please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the item you have bid on.

The National Literacy Trust will not use any personal data collected on this site for any purpose other than that specifically stated. By agreeing to be kept up-to-date, you are agreeing to the National Literacy Trust contacting you using the email address provided.

The National Literacy Trust subscribes fully to the Data Protection Act (1998) and the E-communications Act (2003). The National Literacy Trust will never intentionally misuse or allow others to misuse any personal data it collects or holds.
The National Literacy Trust does not sell or pass on personal contact details to any organisation for commercial purposes and will not do so in future without asking you for a specific opt-in to that scheme.
We may pass your details to any one of our suppliers but only to deliver products/services that you have requested from us. In this event data will be sent in a secure, encrypted format and used solely for the purpose for which it was intended. Our suppliers also subscribe fully to the Data Protection Act (1998) and the E-communications Act (2003).
The National Literacy Trust does collect standard log files on its web server. These log files do not collect personal data but rather collect information which assists the National Literacy Trust in assessing the use and usability of its various sites. This information may include the IP address of your computer. The National Literacy Trust will not attempt to trace that IP address to you personally.
The National Literacy Trust may transfer your personal information to the police, regulatory bodies or legal advisers in connection with any alleged criminal offence or suspected breach of the terms of use and of the breach of other terms and conditions otherwise relating to you or otherwise where required by law and we will co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity of or locate anyone breaching the terms of use or otherwise for the prevention or detection of crime or the apprehension or prosecution of offenders.
