We asked 16 of Britain’s favourite authors to donate a book and inscribe it with a special message explaining how it has transformed their life. View the full list of books here.

The auction opens on Thursday 9 June 2011 and closes at 14.00 on Friday 24 June 2011. The book lots will also be on display to the public at the Barbican library from 9 June to 26 June 2011.

All proceeds go towards our work supporting disadvantaged children and families who struggle with their literacy skills.

We would like to thank all our contributors and our Patron, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall, who hosted the literacy reception at Clarence House which first brought the contributors together.
